Special children require not just empathy but our
support and care so that they lead a normal life sans psychological
blocks, District Collector S.Jayandhi said here on Monday while
launching the special
scheme for providing supplementary and nutritious
food for the children in special schools.
The scheme
at the preliminary stage benefits in all around 30 special children at
the St. Antony’s Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally Retarded Children
and the aurally challenged children at the Karur Municipal Higher
Secondary School under the aegis of the Differently Abled Welfare
Department and the Integrated Child Development Scheme.
District
Revenue Officer M. Aruna, RDO Nellai Vendhan, ICDS Project Officer
Senthamizhselvi, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer Kamakshi,
and others were present on the occasion.
